Seminarians

Conor Bopp

Conor Bopp is a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Omaha and a members of St. Peter Church. His father and mother are Dan and Lauren, and he has two older siblings: Daniel and Shannon. Before he left for college, he and his family belonged to the Saint Cecilia Cathedral parish, where he sang in the choir for most of high school. He graduated from Creighton Prep in 2008, and then Thomas Aquinas College in May of 2012, after which he spent the fall semester in Phoenix, AZ, as an assistant teacher. It was during his time in Phoenix that he heard God calling him to the priesthood, and he returned home to apply for the seminary. His family had switched to Saint Peter Parish while he was gone, so he, too, joined Saint Peter. Before leaving for seminary, Conor took part in our Schola Cantorum and our St. Vincent de Paul Society, when he could. He is in seminary at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis, MO. Conor remarks: "I’m grateful to God for the support I’ve received here at St. Peter Parish, and I look forward to praying for you all during my time in seminary."

Eric Koch

Eric Koch is the son of Jim and Tana Koch and the oldest of eight children. He was born in Seattle, Washington, and lived there until 2002, when they moved to Council Bluffs. After being homeschooled since second grade, Eric graduated in 2013 with the Catholic Homeschool Association of Omaha. Ever since he went to his cousin’s ordination when he was ten, Eric has had a desire to become a priest. This desire increased during the Steubenville Youth Conference that he attended with the youth group during their annual Ora et Labora Mission Trip in 2011, and during Eucharistic Adoration. In 2013, Eric visited Conception Seminary in Missouri. While he was there, he experienced great joy and peace, and is excited to start seminary at Conception. Eric says: "I am looking forward to coming closer to Jesus and his Church in the seminary through prayer and study."

Brian Hula

Brian Hula is the son of Paul and Cathy Hula and the oldest of four children. He has lived in Bellevue his entire life and been a member of St. Peter for the last 11 years. As a teenager, Brian served Mass and participated in St. Peter Teen Choir and St. Peter Youth Group. Brian's involvement in St. Peter Youth Group and OPI (Oremus Pro Invicem), a homeschool youth group, helped him to deepen his faith life and commit to praying and attending Mass frequently. Brian visited Conception Seminary in high school, but ultimately attended the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas, for two years, including a semester abroad in Rome. Brian discerned during the Advent season of 2014 that the Lord was calling him to leave UD and enter seminary to further discern his vocation. Brian will be attending Conception Seminary to receive classes and formation. His is humbled and excited to have this opportunity to grow closer to God in the prayerful atmosphere of Seminary.
