Inspired by the example of St. Martha who not only worked tirelessly to provide hospitality to Jesus in her home but also interceded for her dead brother, Lazarus, the members of the Martha Circle assist in providing funeral luncheons for parishioners mourning the loss of loved ones.
The Martha Circle consists of teams of generous individuals who donate dessert items, serve the funeral lunch and beverages, and clean up afterwards. Families of the deceased are responsible for providing and paying for the main dishes and side dishes at a funeral luncheon; the Martha Circle takes care of everything else.
In gratitude for their services, donations to the St. Peter Altar Society are always welcome but never necessary.
The Martha Circle is always looking for new members who wish to share in this unique corporeal and spiritual work of mercy.

"Martha said to him, 'I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.' Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live'" (John 11:24-25).
