November 27 - Thanksgiving Day Mass & Blessing of Food

Give thanks to God for His many blessings in our lives through the Holy Mass at a special time. Foods that will be served at your family dinners may also be brought to the Mass; they will be blessed after the dismissal for the Mass. All other services or canceled this day and the office is closed Nov. 27 & Nov. 28 for the holiday.

Those who are alone, homeless, and hungry are invited to our annual Thanksgiving Dinner in our gymnasium, co-sponsored by nearby Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church.

All young adults ages 18-40, single and married, are invited to attend the next meeting of the Young Adult Apostolate on Thursday, December 11, at the regular time, 7 p.m., in McMahon Hall. Please bring some food to share and a Bible.

Assist in the delivery of Angel Tree gifts to nearby seniors at Park East; interested parties should contact our St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Help assemble gift bags that will be given out to families at Christmas. Many volunteers are needed. Pizza and pop will be provided.

December 19 - The Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Festival of Lessons & Carols

Prepare your soul for the Birth of our Savior through the sacrament of Reconciliation, accompanied by the Festival of Lessons and Carols, a service of Scripture and song that dates to the late 19th century. In this service, we listen to nine Scripture lessons which recount the Fall, the promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission to preach the Good News.  Each lesson is followed by a carol or other song that reflects on the lesson’s message and a brief prayer.

December 21 - Las Posadas

Join in this 400 year old Spanish custom that reenacts Mary and Joseph’s journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem and their search for lodging along the way.

December 23 - Christmas Cleaning & Decorating

Help clean and decorate our beautiful church for Christmas; snacks provided. Please bring vacuums, extension cords, dust cloths, and hand trucks, if possible.
