Fridays of Lent:  March 23

Abstinence and Fasting in Lent:  All Catholics age 14 and over are required to refrain from eating meat on Ash Wednesday and every Friday in Lent as a sacrificial penance. 

All Catholics aged 18 to 59 are required to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Fasting includes one regular meal plus two small meals per day, with no food in between meals.

  • 8:00 am Holy Mass in English
  • 8:30 am-6:00 pm Eucharistic Exposition  
  • 5:30 pm Stations of the Cross in English, followed by Benediction
  • 6:00 pm Sacrament of Penance (English & español)
  • 7:00 pm Vía Crucis en español 

Cancellation:  Saturday, March 24 - 2nd Year Confirmation Class Cancelled 

The church tour for the 2nd year Confirmation class planned for Saturday, March 24 at 10:30 am has been cancelled due to a funeral.

Homeschool Confirmation Interviews All homeschooled youth who are preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation this May should contact the parish office in early January for an interview appointment with Father Broheimer.

For a Monthly Catechism Calendar (revised March 22, 2018):

The homeschool catechism class is on vacation for Holy Week and Easter until the final class on Tuesday, April 24 at 3:00 pm to celebrate the reception of First Holy Communion.  

LoveEd Program for High School Students

LoveEd is a parent-guided, age-appropriate, gender-specific program that teaches children about God’s plan for life, love, sexuality, and purity. This program helps parents have “the talk” with their children about God’s plan for them. It’s age and gender-specific parent/child sessions. It’s faithful to Church teaching. The cost is $15 for a parent guide and $15 for a student workbook. Contact Linda Carney 402-614-2780 for more information. 

LoveEd for high school students is hosted at the St. John Paul II Newman Center, 1221 South 71 Street, Omaha.

The parents only session is Wednesday, March 21, 7:00-9:00 pm and the parents and children sessions is Sunday, March 25 with the mother/daughter session at 1:00-3:00 pm and the father/son session at 4:00-6:00 pm.

REVEALED Steubenville Youth Conference: July 13-15 

All youth of the parish are invited to the REVEALED Steubenville Conference in Missouri July 13-15, 2018.  Cost $300, $50 deposit to hold your spot.  For details please click here.

St. Peter Youth Group Schedule 

  • St. Peter Youth Group meets on Wednesdays in McMahon Hall. 6:30 pm Gathering, 7:00 pm Presentation, followed by social activity in the gym. Pickup is at 9:00 pm in St. Peter School gym. 
  • "Dinner & a Movie" is offered about once per month on Saturdays from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm in McMahon Hall. Cost is $5.00 for dinner and snacks.

Important Opt-out Form for Students in Omaha Public Schools  

If you have a child attending Omaha Public Schools, there is an important form to Opt-out of its new comprehensive sex education classes that will be taught to Omaha Public School students in grades 4-8 and 10 beginning in the Fall of 2016. There is information in the program that is contrary to the Catholic Faith, and may morally harm children. Please contact the parish office for a copy of the form, orclick here
