RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

Are you an adult or teen who needs Baptism or would like to become Catholic? Are you a Catholic adult or teen who never received the Sacraments of Confirmation or First Communion? Do you have adult friends or family members who would like to become Catholic Christians? Consider RCIA classes. It includes weekly evening meetings for adults, age 16 and above, who wish to receive any of the Sacraments of Initiation. The classes in English will occur on Tuesday evenings from 7:15 pm-8:30 pm. RICA: Rito de Iniciación Crisitana para Adultos

Eres un adulto o adolecente con necesidad de Bautismo? Eres un adulto católico que nunca recibió los Sacramentos de Confirmación o Primera Comunión? Tienen amigos adultos que les gustaría convertirse en cristianos católicos? Consideren nuestras clases de RICA. RICA incluye reuniones semanales por la noche para los adultos, de 16 años o más, quienes desean recibir cualquier de los Sacramentos de Iniciación. Las clases en español empezarán lunes, 12 de septiembre a las 7:15 pm y continuarán hasta mayo de 2017. Para mayores informes, favor contacten la oficina parroquial o Sor Clara Acosta. 

August 15-October 7: 54-day Rosary Novena for Our Nation

August 2016: Registration for Catechism for Children and Homeschool Sacramental Preparation 

Please register your children for Catechism and Homeschool Sacramental Preparation by August 31, 2016. Registration is available in the Catechism Office (room 103 in St. Peter School) on Wednesdays from 5:30 pm-7:00 pm, and Saturdays from 10:30 am-12:00 pm.

Catechism classes begin with Open Houses in the school on Wednesday, August 31 from 5:30 pm-7:00 pm; and on Saturday, September 3 from 10:30 am-12:00 pm.

August 30: Schola Cantorum Begins

Rehearsals for St. Peter Schola Cantorum begin on Tuesday, August 30. Choirs include the Voces Angelorum nd Pope Pius X Choirs for children, the Pope Benedict XVI Choir for teens, and the Adult Choir. For a choir registration form, please click here. September 4:  Farewell Open House for Father Gregory Carl / Despedida de Padre Gregory Carl

All are invited to a farewell open house in McMahon Hall for Father Gregory Carl on Sunday, Sept. 4, after the 8:00 am and 9:30 am Masses. Please contact the parish office if you want to help. Father Carl will be appointed as the pastor or St. Leonard Catholic Church in Madison, Nebraska, in September. Please pray for Father Carl, and thank him for his priestly service the past year at St. Peter Parish.

September 4 & 5:  Celebrate the Canonization of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta

Blessed Mother Teresa, Carrier of God's Tender Love and MercyBlessed Teresa of Calcutta, foundress of the Missionaries of Charity, will be canonized by our Holy Father, Pope Francis on September 4, 2016. Saint Peter Church will be blessed with the presence of a first class relic of soon-to-be Saint Teresa on Sunday, September 4, and on the first feast day of Saint Teresa of Calcutta - Monday, September 5. The relic will be present before and during the Holy Masses. After the Masses on Sunday, September 4, we will pray a special prayer for her intercession, receive a blessing with the relic, and have an opportunity for individual veneration of the relic. On Monday, September 5, the Holy Mass in honor of Saint Teresa will be offered at 9:00 am. The evening Mass at 6:30 pm is cancelled on Monday, September 5. September 10 & 17:  Training for New Altar Boys

Training for new Altar Servers will be held in two parts on two consecutive Saturdays: September 10 & 17, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Pizza will be offered after each training session. Currently serving altar boys who would like more training are also invited to attend. Please RSVP to the parish office if you plan to attend. Fall 2016: Catholic Study on Eucharistic Adoration 

Coming this Fall we will offer a Catholic study on Eucharistic Adoration. Sources will include the Holy Bible, The Catechism of the Catholic Church, teachings of the Church Fathers, and more. The class will be held tentatively on Tuesday evenings. More information will be announced in the future. 

January 24-29, 2017:  Saint Peter March for Life Pilgrimage

Departure on Tuesday evening, January 24, and return home on Sunday, January 29, 2017. Possible sites in addition to the March for Life are: Life is Very Good Rally, Holocaust Museum, Gettysburg, and the Saint John Paul II Museum. More information to follow. In this new full-color hardcover book, Rev. Damien Cook takes you on a guided tour of St. Peter's - one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in the Archdiocese of Omaha.
